The three large bays are the Columbia River littoral cell to the south, Willapa Bay in the middle, and Grays Harbor to the north. The major tidal inlets divide the littoral cell into four subcells, i.e., from south to north, Clatsop, Long Beach, Grayland, and North Beach. See Figure 1a for corresponding line map.
